It was recently pointed out to me that Toxic Summoners cause other people’s computer to crash. And therefore no one wants them in their party.
Is this the current head set? Cause if it is, I have a few things to say about it.
First off, Swarm does a tremendous amount of dmg. That whole tree does. To banish or avoid those with that skill set is wrong. And here’s why.
Correct me if I"m wrong. Don’t those toxic effects and animations occur on the client side? And if they do, that means those who lag as a result of Swarm have a problem with their computer. It’s on them.
Why have we let this head set happen? My computer does not have a lag or disconnect problem with any Toxic effect. I have land line, fast connection with fiber optic. I got this setup cause I didn’t want any excuses why I couldn’t handle things. I got the right machine, got it setup the right way and it works great.
I have a sneaking suspicion that some of this lag issue is coming from Wifi connections. Bad idea to game with Wifi. The idea of random packet drops wasn’t attractive to me.
What I see is a growing use of Wifi. And now, an avoidance of someone who uses Toxic so their machine won’t lag or disconnect. I want to ask you, who really has the problem here?
Many Summoner guides encourage the use of Toxic tree. They however give suggestions on how not to. This isn’t a server issue. It isn’t London 2038 problem. They didn’t create it.
Back in 2007 when someone complained about lag or frames dropping they were told 2 things. Get a better video card or talk to your ISP it. OR, get a better computer . Trying to make a game work with wireless Wifi connection just winds dumbing down the whole game. ie Buy as cheap of a laptop computer that you can. Often times a newer gamer. Who complains about the game , the lag, the frame rates. Thinking it’s someone else’s problem.
Hard core gamers know what it takes to game. To those who don’t, take a long hard look at what you are saying, who you blame for something that happens on your computer. And stop penalizing those who came ready to play and have no problems with using the effect, animations, skills they want.
